Second periodic review of the BIOPOLIS project

On the 20th of January 2023 BIOPOLIS CoE hosted representatives from the European Commission and BIOPOLIS project partners for the second periodic review meeting. The goal was to assess project’s implementation during the last 21 months, from the 1st of January of 2021 to the 30th of September of 2022. The visit included the project officer, Soraya Impens, and two external evaluators, Don Dingwell and Christine Bunthof.

The meeting took place on BIOPOLIS-CIBIO facilities, at Campus de Vairão, where the Board of Directors welcomed the EC representatives and partners and presented the Teaming project’s implementation, ongoing activities, main impacts and performance indicators, and future perspectives. The group also visited the rehabilitation works at Quinta do Crasto, currently under way, where new laboratories and offices will be available for the BIOPOLIS-CIBIO community. 

At the end of the meeting, the EC panel provided constructive feedback to the project consortium for the next periodic period. A detailed evaluation report will be provided in the next few weeks.
